KeyCare will be open next week, January 23-27. We will keep you apprised of any updates concerning KeyCare.

Our Elementary School PTA is hosting Family Game Night on Friday, January 27 from 6-7:30pm in the KES cafeteria. This is a FREE event where families have the opportunity to play many games and spend quality time with each other. If you have questions or wish to join the KES PTA, please email kesptainfo@gmail.com.

We encourage you to take an eight-question mental health survey made by a collaborative team of staff members to see if there is interest in gathering as a group to raise awareness of a healthy mind practice called mindfulness. A book about mindfulness will be the basis of discussion. Our goal is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where you can just sit back, listen, talk, and share insights. But most importantly, the aim is to learn about tips, strategies, and practical approaches to enhance your life.   Our hope is for you to feel better off for attending. The survey will take less than two minutes and is available @ Mental Health.

Additionally, as part of our commitment to fostering mental health and wellbeing of our students, we have Zen Dens in each of our schools. The purpose of the Zen Den is to provide a safe, supervised space for students to go when they are feeling stressed, anxious, or other emotions prevent them from maintaining appropriate focus in the classroom.

School districts across the nation are facing staffing shortages in terms of substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and transportation drivers. As such, we are in desperate need of substitute bus drivers to transport students to athletic games, after-school events, weekend trips, etc. This is a great opportunity to earn extra money and attend the events for free! Contact Therese Jackson at 440-355-2411 or at therese.jackson@keystoneschools.org for more info.

Please review the policy concerning unpaid meal charges. This does not apply to students who receive free lunches.  If your child’s meal account exceeds $24.25 at KHS/KMS, or $23.25 for KES, or $3.50 for reduced lunches, the student will receive an alternate lunch: cheese sandwich (1 protein), 1 bread, 1 vegetable, 1 fruit, and milk.

We have provided this information numerous times via phone calls and mailed documents. Contact Jody White, Food Service Supervisor, at jody.white@keystoneschools.org or at 440-355-2400 with questions.

Lastly, our FCCLA chapter is supporting amputees around the world by participating in a sock campaign now through January 31. Your online purchase of socks from the non-profit WE HELP TWO organization helps to give amputees around the world a second chance at life by providing them with a leg system that is high-quality and cheaper than the phones we carry in our pockets. In addition to supporting amputees, for every package of socks purchased, we receive a pair of socks to donate to people in need in our community! Learn more and access the online sock items @ We Help Two Campaign.

Have a wonderful weekend Wildcats!
