October 13, 2022

On Wednesday, October 19, we will celebrate national Unity Day. We are encouraging all staff and students to wear ORANGE on Unity Day. Our recognition of national Unity Day will begin with a 6-12th grade assembly featuring Alex Sheen, the founder of "Because I Said I Would." This is a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept.

Recognition of Unity Day will continue as we will host an encore bullying presentation. This is also on October 19, and we will discuss bullying amongst today’s youth. This will include examination of the differences between physical bullying, verbal bullying, and the effects of social media on today’s youth. The presentation begins at 7pm and will take place in the KMS cafeteria.

On Sunday, October 16, the Ohio Association for Gifted Children (OAGC) will hold a virtual Family and Community Day from 2pm-5pm. The keynote presenter is Johnathon Plucker, a Professor of Talent Development at John Hopkins University. Plucker has a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia. In addition to Plucker’s keynote address, the seminar will focus on many ways parents can encourage creativity, learn how parent involvement increases advocacy, and help children who are dealing with grief. The seminar is free. Learn more @ OAGC Virtual Family Community Day

Lastly, please remember to join us in our commitment to staying active by walking the halls of Keystone Elementary from 6pm-8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

Have a great weekend Wildcats!
