BOE Welcomes Kim Sturgill

Kim Sturgill has been in the field of education since 1983. She began working in Keystone in 1994, serving in numerous positions: working with special needs students in a variety of roles and serving as our 6th grade science teacher since 1997.

As a board member, Kim will focus on the people who work hard for our district and ultimately the children who benefit from the hard work and vision of those in charge. "'What is best for kids'" is not just a saying to me,” she states, “it is how I have tried to live out my life, my teaching career, and now in my retirement."

Throughout her teaching career, Kim states, “I had always told my colleagues that when I retired I would run for a seat on the school board. I did not anticipate the seat being open so soon after I retired, but I have always been a person of my word, so I filed the paperwork and put my name on the ballot. It is more than my word that made my decision to run so long before I had retired though. I wanted to be on the school board for many reasons, most of them to be sure to safeguard the people who work so hard for our district and ultimately the children who benefit from the hard work and vision of those in charge.”

Kim thanks her family and colleagues for their support as she beings begins this new chapter of her life. She adds, “I can't thank all of you enough for your kind words and support as I begin this journey. I charge all of you in the district to keep me informed and keep me in your prayers, I will need both I am sure!”

Welcome Kim! We are so excited that you are a Keystone Board Member and that you share in our commitment to betterment of our District!
