Vape Detectors

Vape Detectors

By applying for and acquiring a $300,000 K-12 School Safety grant, Keystone was able to address areas to provide greater safety for our students and staff.  We will use these funds to deter students from using tobacco products and to further ensure the health and safety of the school environment. Part of this update was to by installing vape detectors in restrooms at KHS and KMS. In addition, KHS and KMS will also be using metal detecting wands capable of identifying vapes that are concealed.

We are invested in protecting our students from these harmful products and hope that these devices deter negative and unhealthy behaviors, which are exemplified in the statistics below from the U.S. Federal and Drug Administration (FDA).
