Congratulations to our KHS students who were accepted in selective summer programs.
Abriella Schnell to Attend LMRE’S Washington DC Youth Tour:
Every June, approximately 50 students from around the state attend the Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. This educational leadership experience takes high school sophomores and juniors on a fun and unique trip where they meet 2,000 other co-op teens from around the country. While in D.C., students learn about the unique cooperative business model, visit Capitol Hill to meet with Ohio’s legislative leaders, and experience the sights and sounds and rich history of our nation’s capital.
Mary Miller and Danica Parks to Attend Buckeye Girls State:
Buckeye Girls State is the name given to Ohio's Girls State program, which was designed to educate Ohio's young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship. By getting involved in the process, Delegates can learn more about City, County and State Government in one week than they will learn in an entire semester of high school.
Nick Linden, Kayla Ross, Addison Walker, Kendal Crabeels, and Makenna Folmer to Attend the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Conference
The HOBY Leadership Conference welcomes school and community nominated high school sophomores to 3–4-day seminars each spring and summer. These student ambassadors participate in facilitated dialogue and abilities-based workshops to develop awareness of their leadership strengths and an understanding of their leadership values. Through these dynamic activities with their peers, students hone their skills and learn to recognize, amplify, and collaborate with the diverse strengths of others. Held on college or university campuses, our programs give students a taste of college life while they dive into our engaging and FUN leadership development curriculum.
One weekend at a HOBY seminar unlocks a student’s leadership potential and helps them gain the confidence to make a positive impact on the world around them.
