SOAR with Our Air and Space Club!

SOAR with Our Air and Space Club!

Taken in September at a “Young Eagles Day” event sponsored by the EAA (Experimental Aviation Association), Clinton Thomas and Matthew Morrison got to experience flight and fly an airplane in a 20-minute plane ride out to Vermilion, and back along the lake. We will be having another free flight event like this, specifically only for the club, on Saturday, October 26th.

Students are loving our newly-formed KHS Air & Space Club. Meetings are held weekly on Wednesdays during Wildcat Pride Time. It's not too late to join! Just come to one of the upcoming Wednesday meetings! Club activities and events include many fun experiences:

  • Plane spotting at Cleveland Hopkins Airport
  • NASA tours and presentations
  • Stargazing at the Nielsen Observatory
  • ATC tours and presentations
  • Student-led rocket launching and model airplane building
  • Free flights with the Young Eagles Day, sponsored by the EAA
  • Aviation opportunities, specifically for girls, which includes a November dinner at Burke Lakefront Airport with the Director of the NASA Johnson Center in Texas, and more!
