The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their guidance concerning the wearing of masks on school or public transportation. Effective immediately, the wearing of masks will no longer be required on transportation services.
The CDC is making this change to align with updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 and early education settings in areas with a “low” or “medium” COVID-19 Community Level. Lorain County is designated as a “low” community level. Lorain County is designated as a “Low” COVID-19 Community Level. In addition, the Lorain County Public Health Department updated guidelines for COVID-19 reporting and contact tracing.
- Contact tracing is no longer required.
- COVID-19 case reporting will be posted on our website on a weekly basis.
- These changes do NOT affect notifications provided to classmates for those who may have been exposed to an individual testing positive for COVID-19. These notifications will still be distributed.
