Children eligible for kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2020. The night will be filled with information about enrolling, curriculum and what to expect in kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. If you have questions about this meeting, please contact KES Principal Maura Neville at 440-355-2300 or at Maura.Neville@keystoneschools.org.

In our strategic planning update this week, I want to share the accomplishments of our Whole Child target area, in the facet of enrichment and curriculum. We have created an intervention and enrichment period at all three buildings and increased College Credit Plus coursework to include
19 classes in numerous subjects, including biology, chemistry, algebra, English, Spanish, and more.  We have also placed STEM bins at our grade levels K-6 to encourage students to conduct their own STEM projects, explore different facets of STEM learning, and we have provided supplies for our students to achieve this.

We have 10 new classes at KMS, including digital forensics, clean energy, career tech, photography, competitive sports, advanced engineering principles, music technology, visual design, leadership academy, and lifetime sports.

With the help of our Elementary School’s PTA, students now have the opportunity to join Lego Club, Carpentry Club, and STEM Club. We have accomplished these goals, among numerous others in the Enrichment and Curriculum category of the Whole Child facet of our Strategic Plan! We look forward to providing additional information about our achievements in this area as well as our ongoing goals and future plans.

Lastly, we are seeking substitute teachers as well as substitute and full-time bus and van drivers. For substitute teacher positions, qualified applicants will hold a bachelor’s degree (in any field) and pass a FBI & BCI background check. Qualified applications for driver positions must be 21 years or older, have a clean driving record, and pass a FBI & BCI Background check. A CDL certification is preferred; however free training is also available. For either position, please apply in person or send in a resume to Keystone’s Board of Education Office, 580 Opportunity Way, LaGrange, Ohio.
Have a great weekend Keystone!
