Snow days, stellar athletes, upcoming events

November 15, 2019

Thank you all for voicing your concerns about Tuesday’s weather and decision not to call a snow day. Unfortunately, the snow came at a very inopportune time; if it had come one hour earlier, we would have cancelled. The timing along with the fact that School Messenger, the company who manages our all call system, was experiencing issues with the functionality of the program. In the future, I will err on the side of caution as student safety is truly my top priority, and I regret that Tuesday’s decision does not reflect this commitment.

In other news, our music department and the high school’s drama club are both holding exciting events. The KHS Drama Club will present "The Keystone Variety Show" on Monday, November 18 at 7:00 in the Keystone High School Cafetorium. Tickets are $5 at the door, and children 8 years and younger are free! Our drama club members have been working really hard to prepare for this production! Please show your support by attending this show!

The Music Department is holding their 2nd annual lip sync contest on Friday, Nov 22 at 6pm at KHS. Tickets are $2 at the door; concessions and raffles will also be available. Funds support the Keystone music department!

We also held conferences this week at all three schools. Our second round will be held this upcoming week, with the middle and high school’s conferences on Tuesday, Nov 19 from 4:30-7:30. The elementary school conferences will be on this Thursday, Nov 21 from 4:30-7:30 as well.

Congratulations to KHS softball players Emma Miller and Marlie McNulty, who recently signed to play college softball at Bowling Green State University. Congratulations girls on your hard work and success at Keystone both athletically and academically.

Also, great job to Alexis Bowen and Taylor Sackett as they were both selected to play in the Lorain County All-Star game.

Lastly, it is hard to believe that Thanksgiving break is almost here! For the holiday, school will be closed Wednesday, Nov 27 through Friday, Nov 29. School resumes the following Monday.

Have a wonderful week Keystone!
