Awesome Trips & Useful Tips

Great job to our sixth grade teachers on providing a wonderful experience for their students on the annual Camp Nuhop trip. Highlights for the students include the high ropes course, giant swing, canoeing, outdoor survival, and an all day hike.  They really enjoyed this event and are still talking about how much fun they had!

Our KHS Guidance Department is also doing a great job on their communication of college and career news and options as they promote a differing colleges and specified career fields on a weekly basis. This week, they focused on the industry of Architecture & Civil Drafting, giving information about industry salaries and qualifications necessary for the field. In addition, they featured Edinboro University, a private, 4-year college near Erie, PA. We look forward to continuing to find new and effective ways to introduce different career fields and post-secondary options to our students.

Next week, our second grade students and teachers will hold Grandfriends Day on Tuesday, Oct 15 and Wednesday, Oct 16 from 9:30-10:30. Throughout their time together, second graders and their grandfriends will enjoy discussing the difference in the way of life, resources, and society of the two differing time periods of their childhoods. Grandfriends will also enjoy a special song performed by the second graders.

Also on Tuesday, Oct 15, Keystone Elementary is holding Kindergarten Curriculum Night at 5:30pm. During this night, each teacher invites parents into their classroom to take a look at the curriculum materials they use, including the Wonders Reading program and the math program, Envisions 2020. They will also discuss the standards students in kindergarten will learn throughout the school year.
Have a great week Keystone!
