Immeasurable Gratitude to Dennis Walter

Immeasurable Gratitude to Dennis Walter

After being present at EVERY Keystone Board of Education meeting for the last TWENTY-FOUR YEARS, Board Member Dennis Walter has chosen to step down. Throughout his tenure on the board, he held positions of Vice President and President and attended nearly 300 board meetings! Dennis has been an integral part of our success in helping us achieve, beyond measure, many of our greatest accomplishments:   the completion of our comprehensive Master Facilities Plan, including the construction of the new Elementary, Middle, and High School buildings as well as Wildcat Stadium, fitness center, outdoor track, field house, and more. Dennis was instrumental in our passage of numerous levies and bond issues with his extensive fiscal knowledge, guidance, and experience.

With Dennis’ input and support throughout the last twenty-four years, we have enriched our curriculum to provide even more services to students in the District, including full time kindergarten, advancement of technological resources,  competitive college credit plus courses, and more.

Dennis’ devotion to Keystone began long before he served as an essential member of our School Board. He is a lifetime Wildcat. He graduated from Keystone High School in 1962 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio State University in Dairy Technology & Industrial Management, with a minor in Industrial Engineering. He spent two years of active duty in Germany with the United States Army Quartermaster Corps and returned to LaGrange with the rank of Captain. Following this, he returned to work and became the part owner of Sunshine Farms & Convenient Food Marts (renamed ConSun Food Industries, Inc), later becoming Keystone’s Board of Education member in 1998.

Always a Wildcat, Dennis and his wife Jayne raised his two children, John and Melissa, in the District, which now houses two of his grandchildren: fourth grader Brayden Walter and eighth grader Ashleigh Walter.

Our degree of gratitude to Dennis Walter is immeasurable. Thank you, Dennis, for your twenty-four years of devotion to the Keystone School District.
