Holiday festivities, donation drives

Welcome back Keystone! I hope all of you had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. Christmas is quickly approaching, and we only have 10 more days before our holiday break begins! We have many events coming up in the next two weeks, including holiday choir and band concerts as well as donation drives.

Our first graders kickoff the holiday season concerts with their performance on Wednesday, Dec 11 at 7pm. The concert will take place in the KMS Cafetorium.

Keystone High School band and choir students follow with their combined Christmas concert on Thursday, Dec 12 at 7pm in the KHS Cafetorium.

KMS choir concerts will be held the following week on Monday, Dec 16. Sixth graders perform at 6:30, followed by seventh and eighth graders at 7:30. Both performances are in the KHS Cafetorium.

Middle school band members will perform on Tuesday, Dec 17 at 7pm in the KHS Cafetorium.

Kindergarteners conclude our holiday season concerts on Wednesday, Dec 18 at 7pm in the KMS Cafetorium.

We encourage you to attend to see the hard work and dedication of our students to their musical studies! All concerts are free of charge and open to the public.
Our donation drive season is also in full swing. Presently, we have numerous drives taking place at all three schools. The elementary and middle schools are collecting canned foods and non-perishable items to be donated to the LaGrange Lions Club. Both drives are in progress now with the elementary school’s drive concluding on Dec 13 and the middle school’s concluding on Dec 18. A special item requested this year is cold cereal.
KES, KMS, and KHS are working together in collecting items for Kayden’s Christmas Toy Drive now through December 13.
Lastly, our first graders are holding their annual Coats for Kids campaign, collecting new and gently used coats now through Dec 18. All items can be dropped off at the respective school offices.

Already this year, we have held successful donation drives. The KES student council held a hat day and pajama day to raise money for the Lions Club.  Students donated $1 to participate, and in all, $767 was collected. The KMS student council held a toilet paper drive and collected over 1,300 rolls. Our staff have been taking part in the season of giving as well, holding a sock donation drives, toy drives, and more. Thank you in advance for supporting us in these collections and for helping to spread holiday cheer for local families in need of assistance.

Have a wonderful weekend Keystone!
