Fantastic Work & Exciting Events

Great job to all of our Elementary, Middle, and High School staff for facilitating a hugely successful Red Ribbon Week! Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s largest and oldest drug prevention campaign.  At the Elementary School, students participated in themed spirit days, including wearing team jerseys to team up against drugs, wearing red to show they are “red’y” to be drug free, and wearing Halloween costumes to scare drugs away. They also had presenters in the classrooms, discussing pertinent topics related to contemporary drug-related issues. The High School also participated by having LCADA, a Leadership, Compassion, Awareness, Dedication, and Advocacy organization, discuss drug use, abuse, violence, and other issues faced by today’s teens. We will continue our commitment to providing these types of programs for our students throughout the school year as their effectiveness and success is profound.

Also, thank you to our Elementary students and staff for organizing a special recognition ceremony for members of our Armed Forces. Students learned about the sacrifices, strength, and courage it takes to be a member of the United States Military. In recognition of this, fifth graders performed a song, expressing their gratitude, and guest Air Force Veteran Colonel Ralph Swann spoke to students about our United States Armed Forces.

Good luck tomorrow, Saturday, Nov 9 to our KHS Football Team Conference Champs as they take on Clyde in the first playoff game of the season. We have home field advantage, and the game begins at 7pm.

Next week, Keystone Elementary School will hold conferences on Tuesday, Nov 12 and Keystone Middle and High School will hold conferences on Thursday, Nov 14. On both evenings, conferences will be from 4:30-7:30pm. Keystone Elementary attendees are encouraged to attend the KES PTA’s annual book fair in the media center which will be open during conferences.
