Successful Fall Endeavors

Wonderful job to all those who have been volunteering and helping us achieve the goals set forth in our campus tree plan! We have received a great deal of positive feedback, and we are very happy that our community, parents, students, and staff are appreciating the beauty this project brings to our campus. We are still planting more trees, and sponsorship opportunities are also available. Please see the news section of our website for additional sponsorship information or contact Athletic Director Jon Bailey at 440-355-2400 or via email at jonathan.bailey@keystoneschools.org.

Great job to our fall athletes as they continue to impress! Our High School football team, for the first time since 2013, won the conference. They also became the first Lorain County 8 (LC8) Football champions! Their season will continue tonight as they take on Oberlin at home in the last game of the season and then on Saturday, November 9 at their first playoff game at 7pm.

Our cross country athletes continue to demonstrate their athletic excellence! The High School boys team earned the Conference Championship title and many members including, Dawson Maiden, Stephen Faltay, AJ Stroud, Michael Spatafore, Tyler Beglin, Casey Spatafore, John Wargo, Tanner Beglin earned all conference and all county honors. Stephen and Dawson placed 14th and 20th in the District to qualify for Regionals. Stephen placed 20th at Regionals and Dawson placed 41st. Stephen qualified for State this weekend at Hebron National Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.

Also, congratulations to our volleyball players for earning conference, county, and district awards! Taylor Whitney earned 1st team all-conference, McKenna Saterlee earned 2nd team all-conference, Brienne Guyeska earned honorable mention, and head coach Kristin Walsh earned coach of the year!
The boys’ golf team had a stellar season, winning the conference tournament and finishing the season 8-0. Many players earned all conference awards: First Team - Jake Morgan, Ian Morgan, and Bryan Sayers; Third Team - Kyler Yusko, Rocky Houston, and Gage Knepper.

In upcoming events, please remember to take advantage of the discounts many of our local businesses are offering in recognition of Family First Night on Monday, Nov 4. Students will not have homework over the long weekend and school-sponsored events will be put on hold. In the busyness of our daily lives, spending quality time with our family, eating, playing games, or just enjoying each other’s conversation, is often unintentionally secondary to the many commitments we have to fulfill. We hope that on November 4, you are able to spend quality time with your loved ones.

Have a wonderful weekend Keystone!
