Congratulations to Keystone Middle School Intervention Specialist Heather Lahoski and Keystone Literacy Coach Jess Hubbard as they were both selected to receive prestigious awards!

Heather Lahoski was named the Connecting for Kids 2023 Outstanding Educator. This organization connects families of students with special needs to community resources to address needs that extend past the classroom. Educators are selected for this award based on a nomination they receive from an individual outside of the school system. Read more @ Heather Lahoski Award. Congratulations Heather!

Literacy Coach Jess Hubbard received the Leadership Award from “Making Schools Work” for her leadership work through literacy in our district. Jess has a wealth of knowledge around the Science of Reading research and has led our district literacy team through the creation of our local literacy plan this year.

We have many resources on our website for parents, students, and community members. Recently, we posted our most recent edition of our literacy newsletter as well as the Elementary School’s spring newsletter. The literacy newsletter features an update on our literacy team’s analysis of our programs, options we are looking at to enhance students’ literacy objectives, and links to videos and literacy resources. Access the information @ Literacy Newsletter. Also, plan to attend Family Literacy Night THIS Tuesday, March 14 from 5pm-6:30 at KES. Each child will have the opportunity to play fun literacy games, enjoy light refreshments, and enjoy 1 FREE book!

Keystone Elementary School’s monthly newsletter features information about kindergarten registration, safety town, after-school extracurricular opportunities, and more! View the newsletter @ KES March Newsletter.

To continue to highlight the new courses at Keystone High School next school year, this week we are featuring KHS Family and Consumer Science Teacher Ms. Heffernan’s new class called "Just Desserts." In this course, students will explore a variety of desserts & advanced baking techniques.  An emphasis will be placed on specialty diets, including vegan, gluten free, and more. Additional topics will include careers relating to the food industry, plating, and presentation.

March 17 is also the last day to purchase tickets for the KES PTA’s “Out of this World” dance on Friday, April 14 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the KMS Gym and Cafeteria. View the flyer and purchasing information @ Out of this World Dance Flyer.
