We are happy to report that we have hired KeyCare staff and are able continue to offer before and after-school care. Thank you to our parents who utilize this service for your flexibility and patience! For those of you that utilize Key Care, please remember to bring I.D. for our new staff.

As we continue our descent into Ohio’s winter weather season, we want to remind you of our calamity day procedures.  When there is threatening weather, it is our goal to make a decision by 6am. If it is determined that school must be cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions, we will relay this information to you on local news stations and via our all-call system. The information will also be posted on our website as well as our Facebook and Twitter profiles.

Plan to attend our Elementary School’s PTA at Family Game Night TONIGHT from 6-7:30pm in the KES cafeteria. This is a FREE event where families have the opportunity to play many games and spend quality time with each other. We hope to see you this evening!

The Preventative Action Alliance shares publications to provide parent resources and education on the many challenges our youth face. KNOW! To Positively Connect with Your Teen discusses the effects of social media and the importance of in-person connections. “The desire to connect with others is universal, which is why social media has exploded over the years among people of all ages…just about everyone has at least one social media account to be able to connect with their “friends” at any given moment. Children whose relationships with their parents can be characterized as consistent, warm, kind, loving, and stable, are much more likely to: initiate positive social interactions with others, respond to situations with empathy, be cooperative with others, exhibit a higher self-esteem and make healthy life choices, including the decision not to use alcohol and other drugs.” Read more about the effects of social media and the importance of positive, in-person relationships @ Enhance Your Parent/Child Connection.
