January 13, 2023

January is School Board Recognition Month, and I would like to thank our Board of Education members, Patricia Wakefield, Carrie O’Boyle, Devin Stang, Kim Sturgill, and Jennifer Maiden for their dedication to the success of our District. Their tireless efforts to work with our community, staff, parents, and students directly play a role in the success of our District.

It’s hard to believe, but we have reached the conclusion of the second quarter! As a reminder, hard copies of report cards are not sent home; rather, students’ grades are on PowerSchool. If you have trouble accessing the grades, please contact your child’s school office.

We are happy to report that we are able to offer KeyCare services for the upcoming school week, Wednesday, Jan 18 through Friday, Jan 20. Thank you again to our parents who utilize this service for your flexibility and patience as we interview candidates for KeyCare positions.

As a reminder, students do not have school this coming Monday, Jan 16 in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. On Tuesday, Jan 17, students do not have school as it is a teacher records day.

We continue to work on developing as strategic plan that will guide our District’s decision making for the next five years.  We would like to stress that this is in its EARLY development phase. The ideas and plans set forth in our current document are by no means final. Additional research will be conducted into our new initiatives and we will solicit your feedback. View an in-progress presentation of our strategic plan @ Brainstorming: Our Strategic Plan.

We are in desperate need of substitute bus drivers to transport students to athletic games, after-school events, weekend trips, etc. This is a great opportunity to earn extra money and attend the events for free! Contact Therese Jackson at 440-355-2411 or at therese.jackson@keystoneschools.org for more info.

In upcoming events, conferences will be held at Keystone Elementary on Feb 8 and 14, at Keystone Middle on Feb 9 and 14, and at Keystone High on Feb 9 and 15. Students will not have school on February 20.

Enjoy the long weekend Wildcats!
