This is KMS Spirit Week! Today is Wildcat Spirit Day!  Thank you to all students and staff that participated!     **Student with the most spirit wins a PRIZE for each grade level**

Students knowing in advance of an absence for going out of town, vacation, or any other reason that is not a sick day must complete the form for an excused future planned absence from school.  This form must be completed and turned in to the office at least 2 school days prior to the absence.  Forms not received 2 school days prior to absence will not be approved and will result in unexcused absence for those days.  Forms are available in the office.

Attention Girls - There will be an Engineering Day Camp for current 6th and 7th grade girls this summer at The University of Akron.  The camp will be in June.  All applications will need a teacher recommendation and are due no later than March 15.  If you are interested please see Mrs. Daymut for details and the application

Current 8th graders: Are you interested in becoming a Keystone High School Football Cheerleader??
Current 6th and 7th graders: Are you interested in joining Miss Chudakoff to cheer on our KMS football players this fall? Tryouts will be held March 21st in the KMS Gym and 22nd in the High School Gym from 3:30-5:30 pm for both the middle school and high school teams. Come see Miss Miller in room 114 to get a try out information packet and sign up today!

If you are interested in joining color guard next year, there will be a meeting in the KHS band room from 2:50-3:50 on Monday, April 8.  Please mark your calendars and see Mr. Benzin with any questions.

The Penny War total is in!  Congratulations to the 7th grade for having lowest negative total penny points.  The totals were:  7th grade -6645, in second place was 6th grade who took a hard hit with $80 in paper money put in their jar, at -12,142, and in last place was 8th grade with -17,417 points.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Together with the Student Council dance, we raised $943.38.  We were very close to our goal of $1000.00!  There will be a jar in the office this week for any remaining donations students would like to make.  The last day any money will be collected is March 15, 2019.

Penny War update.  The 6th grade has held onto their lead and has 3120 penny points.  The 7th grade is in 2nd place with -6645 points and 8th grade took a huge hit yesterday and now has -11,898 penny points.  Today is the last day to donate!

Thursday, March 7

The Penny War update is in!  6th grade has taken a huge lead with 3475 penny points.  The 7th and 8th grades are both in the negative.  7th grade has -4252 and 8th grade has -8537.  Keep bringing  in all those coins!  The grade with the most points wins the spirit taco and a treat!

Attention Yearbook Members.  We will have a yearbook meeting today after school until 4:00.  Please let Mrs. Dillen or Mrs. Marxen know if you are not able to attend.  Thank you.

The Penny War is this week.  We will be collecting change to support LLS, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Our donation will help LLS do research and hopefully find a cure.  Check the couch cushions, the car seats and anywhere else our change disappears to!  Pennies count positive for your grade level and silver change or dollars takes away points.  The winning grade level will get a treat and win the spirit taco!

Attention 6th grade students:  If you are interested playing volleyball sign up for the Keystone Youth Co-Ed Volleyball League.  The league is for boys and girls, grades 4th-6th.   It starts Tuesday March 12 and goes until April 16th, Tuesday evenings from 6-8.  Sheet are due today.  Sign up early to get a spot!  If you need a form, see Coach Healy, Coach Cendrosky, or the office.  Hope to see you there!

Monday, March 4

Congratulations to the following students who participated in the Destination Imagination STEM competition on Saturday: Gwen Johnson, Ava Reed, Bella Minisall, Andrea Whitman, Evander Fedor, Kaden Hetsler, Kat Braden, and Patrick Cahill.  Ava and Gwen won the second place prize for their category - Project Outreach and raised over $500 for the ASPCA.  Andrea and Bella won the third place prize in their area - Technical Design: On Target. Keystone is very proud of all of these students!

Congratulations to Bailey Cobb the KMS PRIDE gift card winner for February!  Friday the following PRIDE tickets were turned in for prizes:  8th grade – 129, 7th grade – 445, and 6th grade – 826!
