ACT Admin Feb 23

ACT Admin Feb 23

Keystone High School is excited to announce, due to law enacted by our Ohio Legislature, that we will be offering the ACT to all members of the Class of 2022, free of charge.  This test will take place on February 23, and will last from 7:45 am until approximately 11:45 am.  All juniors will be notified of what room their test will take place, and then will be excused for the day upon conclusion of testing. Any full-time CCP students who are in the junior class should also plan to test that day.  Those students who are virtual will be asked to come into the building to take the ACT as there are no virtual offerings for this test. Students have been assigned to rooms with roughly 15 students to ensure that social distancing guidelines are adhered to. All ACT pre-registration will be completed online this year, so keep an eye out for announcements on Google Classroom on how to complete this portion. Please contact Ms. Schwedt to verify that your registration has been completed or to ask any questions.

Freshman, sophomore, and senior students that attend KHS will NOT be in attendance at school on February 23.   The administration of the ACT is such that all of the high school’s resources will be dedicated to ACT testing on that day. We encourage students in those grade levels to plan college visits, job shadowing activities or participate in volunteer hours.

There are a few pieces of information that are important to any of our students who attend the LCJVS.  Firstly, if you are a LCJVS freshman, sophomore, or senior, you will have a normal school day at the JVS.  Secondly, if you are a junior who attends the LCJVS, you will still take the ACT on February 23  at KHS.  You are not required to return to the JVS later that day, as the JVS will not have school for juniors on ACT testing day.

School counselors will be in touch with all junior students for pre-registration appointments, including the juniors at LCJVS.

We are excited for our students to have this free opportunity to take the ACT.  Our students will also be able to send their score reports to a maximum of four colleges at no additional cost.  Additionally, if a student has taken a previous ACT, or is interested in re-taking the ACT in the future, they can tie their ACT account into the scores they achieve from the February 23 test date. Please also note that the February 23 ACT WILL NOT include the extra writing test that is available at national testing sites on ACT test dates.  We look forward to this exciting opportunity for our juniors.  Please contact our school counselors, or myself, for further information on this fantastic, free opportunity to take the ACT.
