Keystone Middle School recently held their first annual “DAY OF AWESOME!" This day is a celebration of KMS students for all of their hard work throughout the year, their dedication to creating an inclusive environment, and the incredible growth they have made as students and as young people.
This full-day celebration was spearheaded by Brittany Chudakoff and the PBIS team in partnership with Ian Gaul and the You Belong Student Leadership Group. Planning for the event took months and we are so happy and proud of the outcome.
At the Day of Awesome, teaching teams created fun-filled, minute-to-win-it style classroom games such as “cookie face,” “oven mitt Hershey race,” and the messy, yet fun “marshmallow toss.”
Meanwhile, outdoor stations included a bounce house and obstacle course, cornhole toss, basketball, water balloon toss, and more. Lunch was provided by the tireless KMS cafeteria staff who received donations of veggie trays, hot dogs, chips, and an Icee Machine from KMS parent donors. Lunch was served up by KMS parent volunteers, and students were able to enjoy games and music from DJ Jamie Cendrosky.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of the KMS parents and the generosity of local businesses. Donations for the end of the year raffle and for our Day of Awesome were provided by:
- Becca’s Choo Choo
- Hershey’s
- Lagrange Hardware
- The Lucky Penny
- Rafael and Ashley Beltran
- Beth Moore
- Samantha Widdowson and Jason Payne
- McDonald’s
- Romeo’s Pizza
- IGA
We are so excited to hold our second annual "Day of Awesome" next year at KMS. Thank you so much to all who made this event a success!
