The Ohio Department of Health released recommendations and mandates regarding the wearing of masks in the 2021-22 school year. Lorain County superintendents are working together with Health Commissioner Dave Covell on guidelines regarding these mandates. We will follow the guidance of the Lorain County Health Department.
The facts as of 7/28/2021
1. Face masks will be mandated on transportation. Students will have to wear masks on buses whether they are vaccinated or not.
2. If students are vaccinated, they do not need to wear a mask during the school day, and they will not be quarantined if it is deemed they have been exposed to COVID-19.
3. If students are NOT vaccinated, it is strongly encouraged that they wear a mask and are subject to quarantine. It is not mandated that they wear a mask.
What we are still working on:
Details regarding quarantining for unvaccinated individuals and expectations for other barriers such as social distancing, frequent hand washing, etc.
