Try It Tuesday a Success!

Try It Tuesday a Success!

Our Wildcat makes a surprise visit to KES on Try-It-Tuesday.

Our February Try-It-Tuesday was a success! 473 students took part in the taste test. 324 of them gave the brownie batter hummus a thumbs up! Second grader Carter Duensing said, "I loved it! I dipped other parts of my lunch in it." Other students commented that it tasted "like hot chocolate," and "it's sweet and good."  Suggestions from our taste testers included, "it needs more crackers," and "it's a little too chunky." Overall, all the students were very excited to sample the recipe, which consisted of chickpeas, cocoa powder, vanilla, and maple syrup.

The Food Service Department, led by Supervisor Jody White, did an amazing job preparing this for students and bringing back the excitement to school lunches. In addition, Athletic Director Jon Bailey attended and spoke to students about the importance of healthy living and the benefits of brain foods. Our KHS cheerleaders added to the fun, performing cheers and eating lunch with students! The Student Wellness Committee looks forward to sponsoring more Try-It-Tuesdays and providing additional information about the benefits of BRAIN FOODS!
