Strategic Planning
During the strategic planning process, the district created focus groups comprised of staff, parents, and community members to identify both short and long-range goals for the district. The objectives we reached during the 2009-10 school year are provided at the bottom of this webpage.

Vision Statement
By 2011, Keystone will be recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as an “excellent” district and by 2014, we will be one of the top three districts in Lorain County.

Goals through 2014
- By 1/09 develop a comprehensive (instructional, extra-curricular, support services) Master Facility Plan
- By 6/09 provide an effective system of communication both internally and externally
- By 8/09 offer appropriate and extensive non-curricular activities at all levels
- By 6/10 provide adequate funding necessary to implement the district strategic plan
- By 12/10 study the staffing needs of the district and make appropriate changes
- By 2014 enrich curriculum at all levels to reflect a diverse and competitive educational experience.
Focus Groups
Focus groups are critical. They get people talking about what they like or do not like about the district.
- Staff at all three buildings were asked to give their comments
- Support staff – bus drivers, custodians, cooks also provided input
- Community members (with/without children in school) were interviewed
- Roughly 20 groups in all contributed to this focus group process
